I switched from spin-cast to bait cast while surf-fishing years ago. I could throw much farther and I had more control. I average about 125yrd throws out into the surf.

If you replace your line with 15lb test, you’ll get more distance and add a 5 oz sinker since your stick is over 10′ will also put you further out. Believe me when I say this, a 100 yard cast is a good cast. Unless you have a strong wind at your back you are not going to get much further than that. Also if you insist on increasing your distance try a St. Croix Truimph or a Lamiglas fishing rod, that you add another 20 yards.
